BandStack is made by the BandStack team, based in Argentina. This policy explains what information is involved when you visit bandstack.app, buy BandStack and use the app.
The short version: BandStack is a desktop app. Your band’s workspace data stays on your computer. The desktop app does not require a BandStack user account, we do not run analytics inside the app, and we do not sell personal data. Online features make the requests described below.
1. When you buy BandStack
Purchases are processed by Polar, our reseller and Merchant of Record. Polar collects the information needed for the purchase (such as your name, email address, billing country and payment details) under its own Privacy Policy. We receive your name, email address and order details to help deliver your license, provide support and handle refunds. We do not see or store your full payment details. We do not sell your personal information; the providers described in this policy process information as needed to provide their services.
2. When you use the app
Your band’s workspace data is stored locally on your computer, in the app’s own folder. It is not uploaded to us. The app makes internet requests for these features:
- License activation and checks (Polar): your license key and your computer’s name are sent to Polar to activate and periodically verify your license. The computer name lets you recognise your activations.
- Automatic updates (GitHub): the app checks GitHub for new versions and downloads updates from there.
- Maps (OpenFreeMap / OpenStreetMap): when you open the map, map resources are downloaded for the area you are viewing.
- Weather and place search (Open-Meteo): when the app shows the weather for a show, or when you search for a place online, the location or search text is sent to Open-Meteo.
- Fonts (Google Fonts): some parts of the desktop app load typefaces from Google Fonts.
As with any internet request, these services can see your IP address. Each handles information under its own privacy policy. When you click a link that opens another site (for example, Instagram, WhatsApp or YouTube), that site’s own policy applies.
3. When you visit our website
The current presentation website does not provide user accounts, contact forms or a mailing list. We do not add tracking cookies or analytics. The site is hosted on Cloudflare and serves its videos, images and fonts directly, without embedded third-party video players. Our hosting provider may keep standard technical logs (such as IP addresses and pages requested) for security and reliability. Contact links open your own email app.
4. When you email us
If you write to us, we use your email address and message to answer you and provide support. Our email provider processes that correspondence to deliver and store it. Please do not send passwords, license keys or full payment details in a support message.
5. How long we keep information
We keep order and support information for as long as needed to provide support and meet legal and tax obligations. Your app data stays on your computer for as long as you keep it there.
6. Your rights
You can ask us for access to, correction of or deletion of the personal information we hold about you (order and support data) by writing to support@bandstack.app. We handle requests subject to applicable law and any required record retention. Requests about payment data can also be sent to Polar.
7. Children
BandStack is not directed at children under 13.
8. Changes
We may update this policy. The current version will always be available on this page, with its date.
